Tuesday Tangent - An Interview with A.E. Via

Hello All!!

I’m A.E. Via the author of the newly released M/M exotic romance Blue Moon – Too Good To Be True. This is my very first novel, but am no means new to the genre. I’ve been an avid dedicated M/M reader for many years.

1. Tell us a little about yourself. What you do when you're not writing?

I’m a mother of four children: 18 yr old, 14 yr old, 11 yr old, and a 5 yr old. My kids and husband are fun and awesome. When I’m not busy running my paralegal-for-hire business that I operate out of my home, I try to spend the time with them.

My business does keep me pretty busy. I basically prepare and file complete bankruptcy petitions for people who can’t afford to hire an attorney...so needless to say, I stay pretty busy. I basically had to take a leave from my business to focus on and complete Blue Moon.

2. What’s a fun fact about you? Something unique, a particular talent?
I don’t know if I would call myself fun or unique, but if you ask my hubby, or anyone in my family make others laugh. Most people like my drive...They call me a finisher. There are so many people that procrastinate and put stuff off...not me. I don’t think it’s possible for me quit something until its 100% complete. My family is always shocked by what I start and stay on until it’s finished.

I was the first in my family to go to college, but I couldn’t just go to college. I went to the number one college in our state and graduated with honors. I then stayed focus on my business until it was a success. Next I wanted to get the novel that was brewing in my mind onto paper and then published. I didn’t stop until it was finished. I don’t know if it’s a talent sometimes or a curse. I can get pretty obsessed with completing tasks.

3. Who is your ideal man? Woman? One of each?

My ideal man is my husband. It may sound like a cliché, but I really did get lucky. My ideal man does not argue back with me. He hates to argue, loathes confrontation...but is far from a pushover when it comes to others. He’ll have exquisite hygiene. He doesn’t snore loudly. My ideal man likes to laugh as much as me. He has to be smart and witty, but doesn’t use it to put others down. My ideal man can cook better than me. He’d also be a great father. My ideal man is not obsessed with looks or appearance, but it is still very handsome....and big. I’m talking nice plus size, full of body heat so that I’m never cold in bed no matter the temperature outside. Most of all, my ideal man will be totally okay and secure with my obsession of gay men and gay erotica. All of that is my husband.

My ideal women would be a pistol. She would rival me in every way...it’d be fun. I think my ideal women might be Michelle Obama.

4. What are your favorite movies/books/TV shows?

Wow! I have so many favorite books it’s hard to name only a few. I would say anything by Elynn Harris, absolutely the entire Cut & Run Series by Abigail Roux, anything by G.A. Hauser, who’s also my inspiration...my ‘she’ro.’ I love, A Little Bit County too by SJ Frost. There are so many more of my favorite authors...all m/m romance too.

My favorite movies. Hmmm. I love to laugh, so, comedies. I loved Super Bad I can watch it over and over, Bridesmaids, Hangover 1, We’re the Millers, just to name a few. I also love a little action with good special effects: Iron Man, Avengers, Thor, ya know the usual summer blockbusters.

Favorite TV shows are easy. Modern Family, Colbert Report, Green Arrow, The Originals, SNL. My oldie-but-goodies that I still watch are: Will and Grace, Golden Girls, Roseanne, Cosby Show

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world (money and time and travel is no object), where would you go? Why? And for how long?

I’d probably go to Chicago so I could stalk adult entertainer, Chad Brock. No seriously, ummm. I think I’d want to go to New Orleans first, at least for a week. The culture is so rich there; I would truly enjoy soaking all that in to my soul.

Which fictional character do you most wish were real?
When I think of fiction, I think of cartoons. I have a hard time picturing one of them as real and wanting to know. *after several minutes of consideration* I would want Thor to be real. I’ve been in love with his character way before the movies. Now that the fictional character Thor is Chris Hemsworth...oh yes!

6.  What do you do for fun? What’s your favorite relaxation? Do you have any hobbies?

I don’t have much of a social life, sad to say. I’m very much a homebody. Every now and then I’ll go with my sister to happy hour, or my hubby and I do the typical dinner and a movie with my sister and her husband. If I want some fun alone time, I will take in a drag show at my favorite gay club every now and then.
My ideal night is cozying in with a glass of wine and writing about hot gay romance. If I’m not writing it then I want to be reading it.

7.  Do you have any guilty pleasures you’d like to confess?

My guilty pleasure is the Golden Girls. Before bed I have to watch at least three to four episodes. I have to fall asleep to it. I have terrible insomnia. My husband says I just need to clear my mind of all the stuff that’s persistently chiming away in there and just sleep...yeah okay...why didn’t I think of that?

So every night around three or so in the morning. I put down my tablet. I start one of my many dvr’d episodes and after maybe listening to two episodes I usually can fall asleep to the third one.

True confession: Listening to Golden Girls is the only way I can fall asleep.

Second true confession: I am truly obsessed with gay men. To me, they are ALL sexy, hot, beautiful, and very lucky.

Third true confession: I have a fragrance fetish. When I go out....especially to the gay bar, I try to smell as many men as possible....discreetly of course. May sound weird, but men actually like to be smelled. I smell my husband constantly.

8.  Is there anything else that you would like us to know about you?

I want to thank everyone for showing an interest in my work, and if you purchased the book or plan to, thank you for your support and I certainly hope you enjoyed it. Don’t be shy to post your comments or reach out to me, I’d love to hear from you.
I hope you want to read more of the sizzling gay erotic scenes that are constantly lurking in my mind, because I’m honestly just getting started. I have a new M/M/M ménage novel that’s already contracted by Amira Press and will hopefully be to the readers soon.

I appreciate and thank Cup O’ Porn for allowing me to be guest on their awesome site. I love the posts and comments, but the pictures alone are enough to have me clicking on there every night!

Blue Moon

Angel DeLucca is one of the most sought after gay bachelors in Virginia Beach. He's smart successful, lethal, and more than anything he's drop dead gorgeous. Angel has his pick of the men that come to his popular Oceanfront night club, but lately the one night stands haven't been enough...Angel craves something deeper. When a one night hook-up goes terribly wrong, Angel comes into contact with the breathtaking Maximus (Max) Strong.
Max is a firefighter for the Virginia Beach Fire Department. Max is beautiful, charming, and also very straight. One meeting with the mysteriously, sexy Angel DeLucca and a whiff of that silky, jet black hair, Max finds himself questioning everything he's known to be true about himself. Max tries desperately to understand the new feelings he has for another man and turns to his gay, older brother...Ryker.

Ryker has always been Max's protector and his guide their entire lives, which has left him feeling uncared for and alone to handle his own life's problems. Ryker craves to be taken care of, he craves the attention and praise of a Master. No one knows the dark desires within him until Angel's Chief of Security, Sebastian 'Bass' Bagatelli, shatters that secret with their first intense encounter.

How will Angel win the heart of the straight firefighter that was tailor-made just for him? Will Max be able to continue denying his feelings for another man? Can Ryker and Bass get through their personal issues to take and receive what they both need from each other? Or will they each give up on a happiness that appears too good to be true?

These men's stories will unravel in a whirlwind of romance, bdsm, revelations, lots of action and very hot sex, co-starring very entertaining supporting characters.
