Coffee Time

In honour of our brush with blogging death, I'm reincarnating Coffee Time (yes, there really was a point in time where we did both coffee and porn). I've got lots of naked(ish) coffee pics, but we'd love to hear from you all too. Send us pics showing where you get your coffee and porn and we'll post them (anonymously if you want), and maybe leave a little something for us all to talk about over our first cup of the morning. Pics can be sent to cupoporn@gmail.com.

In the meantime...

So. Today's discussion is an easy one. What was the first m/m romance you read (or the first one that stayed with you)? The first one I read was Calvin's Cowboy, by Drew Hunt. Calvin comes back to his parent's home to sell and winds up hiring Brock, who may or may not be out, to fix the place up. Romance ensues. It's not an award winner, not a lot of conflict besides the usual semi-closeted angst, just a simple, gentle love story. A sweet introduction to the m/m side of the genre.

Who's next?!

  1. The first one to stick with me was Caught Running (Urban and Roux). It's also a romance with coming out angst. I love everything about it.

  2. Not sure this counts, but the first one I read was Maurice by EM Forster. After that, I can't remember which was the first one, but the one that really stuck with me was Chase in Shadow by Amy Lane.

  3. The first one I read was The Tin Star by J.L. Langley, 2 1/2 years and hundreds of books ago.

  4. The first m/m I read was Diving Deep by K.A. Mitchell. Then 911 and Bareback by Chris Owen. And I've been hooked ever since.

  5. Like Jill, my first one was Caught Running and I still love it to bits. :) I was lucky, back in the days when I was just starting to discover M/M romances, I didn't get caught by a lot of duds. I was reading the Promise series by Amy Lane and Shall We Dance, A Perfect Gentleman and Special Delivery by Heidi Cullinan and the Cut & Run series. Oh, another early one that I loved to bits was Muscling Through by JL Merrow.

  6. My first MM was Bareback by Chris Owen, then I discovered his Deviations series and never looked back... I've read hundreds of MM books ever since :) Like many others here I love Caught Running and one that's also awesome is The One That Got Away... I'm a huge Sean Michael fan (smut rules!) but also love Julie Bozza, Megan Derr, Kaje Harper....

  8. If you're not counting fanfiction then I guess my first M/M book was "Brokeback Mountain". I still love it! M/M romance - I think it might have been Z.A. Maxfield's "The Long Way Home". Now it's all I read. :)

    1. I think we have to count fan fiction, otherwise my annual reading list decreases significantly :)

  9. One of my first and still one of my favorites was "Song of Oestend" by our own Marie Sexton. Then I found Amy Lane and Andrew Grey and so many others and I was completely hooked. In fact, I'm in the middle of an Amy Lane on my Nookapp right now.

  10. I think my first was Pole Star by Jo Myles (sequinned thong anyone!?) - but also Caught Running was a fairly early read too and one I have read a few times!

  11. Cut & Run by Urban and Roux. I dabbled with some anime before, but first started my m/m with K/S.

  12. Brokeback Mountain for me, too. I've read many hundred m/m romances over the last few years and don't really remember what was first. I know it was something from kindle free romance books, though, and from there I was hooked on the genre.
